Like most of our mama tribe, Dom was very active pre kids but after 2 kids knows her body isn’t the same, nor is her ability to get to the gym or a yoga class daily. But rather than focussing on ‘bouncing back’ after baby, her wellness journey adopts a much more holistic approach. Focussed on mindfulness, gratitude and balance, Dom is the founder of Baby Dino and mama to 2 beautiful boys. Today she’s sharing some of her mamahood journey with us. Dive in below.
Sum up in one sentence what it means to you to be a Mum
Being a mum is everything to me. I’ve always been happy at every stage of my life, but now when I look back to my pre-baby days, it just feels so incomplete like something is missing.
If you had to pick one, what’s been your most memorable experience as a Mum?
There hasn’t really been one, it’s just all the little everyday moments that stick with me. Like when my 2 year old rushes to his baby brother in the morning and says “good morning darling” or when my 8 month old laughs lovingly and in admiration at his big brother dancing, my heart just melts and I feel overwhelmed by how lucky I am.
Share with us your most vulnerable mama moment
When Lucas was born he had severe colic. For the first 3 months he was either sleeping or screaming (sometimes 8-9 hours nonstop). I was so stressed and sleep deprived, and was struggling with breastfeeding and recurring mastitis, that most days I would just hold him and cry with him. I still feel sad thinking back to those days, I know he was in so much pain but I couldn’t do anything to help him.
What’s one thing you have learnt about yourself you didn’t know before becoming a mama?
Turns out I’m actually a pretty relaxed person, I’ve never been bothered with comparing their milestones with others. As long as they are happy that’s all that matters to me.
What does living in flow mean to you?
I used to pride myself on being good at multitasking, but since having my boys I’ve really learnt to slow down and focus on one thing at a time. I guess living in flow for me is just being more present and trying to enjoy the journey instead of focussing on the finish line.

My current affirmation/mantra is… stay patient and trust your journey.
My yoga practice is… has been non-existent juggling 2 babes under 2 and an online business that never sleeps, but now that things have calmed down a bit and I’ve joined back at my gym, I’m hoping to practice once or twice a week.
What’s your one parting piece of guidance for the mama tribe?
Prioritise looking after yourself and don’t feel guilty about it.
My hubby Magnus and I own and run Baby Dino, an online department store for children’s fashion and interiors based in Sydney. I’m a mama to 2 boys Lucas (2) and Oliver (8 months), and am inspired by luxurious comfort, minimal style and clean, simple details.
